  What an enjoyable experiance buying local. Jim was closing due to winter hours but was gracious enough to take us in and fitted me like a true artisan. I made the mistake of buying my last suits from a chain "Warehouse" and was never happy with the fit or quality. Even though I paid more than I anticipated, I am hsppy to purchase American made quality and through a locally owned establishment that has served Asheville for many, many years. I will be more than willing to do business with Jim moving forward.

  After a negative experience with a chain clothier, I came to see Jim for the first time to purchase a navy blazer. He helped me find exactly what I wanted, was understanding of my situation, and most importantly, unlike the other store, actually listened to what I wanted and needed and didn't try to sell me what I didn't need just to increase his bottom line. He will have my continued patronage from here on out.

  I have bought three Alan Paine cashmere sweaters- in linen, medium blue and medium gray. They are absolutely beautiful, and the 2-ply construction should enable them to last a long time. The prices were quite reasonable. The service from Jim, the owner, and Amanda was excellent. They sent out the sweaters they same day I ordered them on-line. I had to return the first sweater for a different size, and it was done quickly and graciously.
